The Cumberland County Mental Health Area Board is composed of eighteen members and serves as the governing body of the Cumberland County Mental Health Center.  Statutory authorization for the Mental Health Board is provided by NCGS 122C.  Board members serve a term of three years and are eligible for reappointment for an additional three-year term.

If you wish to be considered for appointment to the Mental Health Board, complete the Application for Boards/Commission Appointments and the Cumberland County Mental Health Area Board Supplemental Application in their entirety.  The Mental Health Board has designated positions that are mandated by North Carolina General Statute.  If you do not designate the position (s) that you qualify for, you will be considered for the "Member-At-Large" position when it is available.  YOU MUST BE A RESIDENT OF CUMBERLAND COUNTY TO APPLYPlease note that some of the Mental Health Board and Committee meetings occur during the day.  If you are unable to attend meetings during the day, you may want to check the Schedule of Mental Health Board Meeting Dates and Locations before submitting an application.
