Cumberland
County Mental Health Center provides the following treatment
services:
Psychiatric Services for
Children, Adolescents and Adults
Psychiatric
Services are comprised of psychiatrists, physician
assistants, licensed clinicians, care coordinators and
nurses who provide evaluation and treatment at the following
locations:
Bradford
Avenue Center – Provides psychiatric services, counseling
and care coordination services for adults with Mental
Health, Developmental Disabilities or Substance abuse
diagnoses.
Child and
Youth Center – Provides psychiatric services, counseling
and care coordination for children, adolescents, and their
families who are experiencing difficulty related to Mental
Health, Developmental Disability or Substance Abuse
diagnoses. These services are located at Executive Place.
Other services provided through this location include:
Juvenile Court Outreach (JCO)
JCO is a partnership with the Department of Juvenile Justice
that includes multi-disciplinary staff of mental health
professionals that provides a community-based continuum of
comprehensive mental health intervention and preventive
services for juvenile court referred youth of Cumberland
County. The program operates within the context of the
system of care principles for child and family services. We
utilize solution focused-cognitive behavior, reality, and
functional family focused methodologies to assist with
problem solving, crisis intervention, management and
prevention skills. Services include screening, assessment
and referral, evaluations, home/office/community based
treatment for identified youth and family, responsible
behavior management/anger management groups, sex offender
clinical services, parenting, community education and
training, case consultation and collaboration and linkage to
other community services. The program provides services 24
hours a day, 7 days a week.
Smart Start Early Intervention Team for Mental Health
Service
The Early
Intervention Team is a service provided to families and
children from birth to age five and not yet in kindergarten,
with behavioral/emotional symptoms or at risk for developing
an emotional or behavioral problem. Children are identified
due to early symptoms which may be affecting their
social/emotional development. Services include: needs
assessments; developmental screenings; behavior management
training; parenting education; counseling services; care
management services; and community outreach. Services are
provided in an office setting or in the family’s home, in
the child’s daycare or preschool, and other community
agencies. The Early Intervention Team is funded by Smart
Start through the Partnership for Children of Cumberland
County.
