Medical Services is comprised of psychiatrists, physician assistants, and nurses who provide evaluation and treatment to patients at the following facilities:
o Bradford Avenue Center – Services are concentrated at the Bradford Center which provides out-patient adult services
o Child and Youth Center – Children, youth, and their families are seen at this site which is located at Executive Place.
o Roxie Avenue Center – This is a 24-hour facility that provides the following:
o Behavioral Health Center – This is the in-patient psychiatric department of the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Medical Services provides a physician to attend to Cumberland County Mental Health Center patients.
The Medical Services Department provides continuing Community Education and Consultation on topics related to mental health such as mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse.
In order to qualify for care at the Center, an individual must suffer from a mental illness, have a diagnosed problem with substance abuse, or have a significant developmental disability.
People who suffer from mental/developmental disabilities require support and services outside the confines of medical care. One such program is the Patient Assistance Program which is offered through the Medical Services Department. This program is designed to enable patients who meet the qualifications set forth by various participating pharmaceutical companies to receive free medication. A patient assistant coordinator meets with the patients and assists them in this effort.
Under the direction of Dr. Mark Chandler, the Medical Services Department offers a full continuum of quality care, supplemental services, and educational services to our patients and to all citizens of Cumberland County. Our main office is located at 109 Bradford Avenue, Fayetteville, N.C. The primary telephone number is (910) 323-0601, extension 4126. |
