Description of
Duties:
The primary purpose of
this position is to provide home based and
outpatient services to children, adolescents, and
their families involved in the Juvenile Court
Outreach component of Child & Family Services
Program following a System of Care approach. The
individual in this position provides intensive
individual psychotherapy, family therapy, group
psychotherapy, treatment consultations to family
members and significant others, behavior
management counseling, crisis intervention/crisis
management, in-depth diagnostic assessments and
evaluations (screening, intakes, other evaluations
of emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and
their families. The individual in this position
also provides care coordination for youth involved
in the court system and serves as a clinical
resource for staff of the Department of Juvenile
Justice, District Attorney’s office, Department of
Social Services, Public Defender’s office, public
and private mental health providers, and outreach
services to those identified as potential clients
entering the mental health delivery system or to
follow-up clients who have terminated services and
as a linkage for families deemed not appropriate
for mental health services at the time. Perform
all other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree from
an accredited school of social work and two years
of supervised social work experience as required
by the North Carolina Social Work Certification
Board. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker by the
North Carolina Social Work Certification and
Licensure Board; or Master’s degree from an
accredited school of counseling and licensed as a
Licensed Professional Counselor.
Other
Requirements:
Position offer is
contingent upon drug-screening test and receipt of
negative results, a physical examination, and
background check for all positions with Cumberland
County Mental Health. Reference checks will be
conducted on the top applicants. Official college
transcripts are required upon hire. Employees must
have a current, valid North Carolina driver's
license with a safe driving record and must
maintain a safe driving record throughout
employment. Some positions require employee to be
certified in North Carolina Interventions (NCI)
