Description of
Duties:
This position will be
assigned to the Roxie Avenue Crisis/Detox
Stabilization Unit as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
This Licensed Practical Nurse will perform
delegated nursing activities to assigned clients
of the Roxie Avenue Center. This employee reports
to the Nursing Supervisor. The responsibilities
and duties of this position consist of: screening
admissions, client profile with assistance of
Staff Nurse, medication administration and
evaluation, substance abuse assessments and
admission packets, evaluation, medical
documentation, evaluating client’s progress,
implementing physician’s orders, observing and
documenting client’s behaviors, behavior
management and crisis intervention. Performs all
other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from a
state accredited program of practical nurse
education and one year of practical nurse
experience. Current and valid license as a
Practical Nurse in North Carolina.
Other
Requirements:
Applicants
must have a current, valid North Carolina driver's
license with a safe driving record and must
maintain a safe driving record throughout
employment; a physical examination; and official
college transcripts upon hire. Pre-employment
drug testing is required for all positions with
Cumberland County Mental Health. Reference
checks/background checks will be conducted on the
top candidates. Some positions require employee
to be certified in North Carolina Interventions
(NCI).
